Simulation & Training for Resilience & Safety Symposium – Call for Papers
The Halldale Group in association with the European Training and Simulation Association (ETSA) is now accepting presentation abstracts for the first Simulation & Training for Resilience and Safety Symposium (STRSS). A limited number of speaker slots are available at this event, which will be held Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March 2019 at 4 Hamilton Place, London, UK.
Safety critical industries such as energy and power, medical, transport, defence, construction and first response have many years experience in exploiting simulation and wider technologies to support their training and education.
There are many conferences and information exchange events that serve these domains but this inaugural Simulation & Training for Resilience and Safety Symposium aims to foster innovation and build partnerships in training and simulation across safety critical industries through the sharing of information and ideas.
With continuous and often rapid and disruptive change in these industries as a result of the increasing digitisation of activities, together with changes in the geo-political context there is no better time to share ideas and benchmark against peers.
We are particularly interested in speakers and thought leaders from the safety-critical related industries and academia who will share their strategies for the future and describe current and future technological advances, with cross-domain themes such as:
- Training for a more digital future
- Training for more creativity
- Training for the unexpected
- Training in a more autonomous system future
- Selection and retention
- Communications and culture
- Big data, AI and IoT
- Simulation and AR/VR/MR
- Games-based and micro learning
Abstracts should be submitted by Friday 16th November 2018 and include:
– The working title
– Your full email and postal address
– Up to 200 word abstract
– A short biography of the speaker and conference presentation experience
Please title your email “STRSS 2019 ABSTRACT” and submit to Andy Fawkes, Conference Chairman at AndyFawkes@halldale.com. Copy should also be sent to Fiona Greenyer, Conference Coordinator at email@example.com.
Authors of accepted speaker proposals will be notified on or before 3rd December 2018.
Presentations must fit into the STRSS format, which is 20 minutes maximum, followed by a Q&A period.
STRSS is an “Applied” conference and while full academic papers are not appropriate, we will consider summaries of appropriate training and education research projects.
Preference will be given to training organisations and their customers with real world training insights in the safety-critical sector, ‘lessons learned’ and training ‘solutions and outcomes’ information. In no case will sales presentations be accepted.
We sincerely thank all those who propose presentations and we will respond to all submissions.
